What exactly we calculate — and what we don't promise

The chart is still built: we substitute noon and remove everything that depends on the time — the Ascendant, the MC, houses and house-based conclusions. Planet signs, aspects between them, the Moon's nakshatra and the dashas remain. Those places are labelled plainly in the reading, not hidden. For more precision there is rectification, which narrows the time to one of four windows from your answers about life events.

Placidus in Western and hybrid mode, whole sign in Jyotish. These are the two most common choices in their traditions, so our charts match most programs. You can change the system in your profile. North of the Arctic Circle Placidus is mathematically undefined, so houses there are computed with Porphyry.

Almost always one of three reasons. First, the zodiac: Jyotish uses the sidereal one, which trails the tropical by roughly 24°, so the Sun can 'move' into the previous sign. Second, the house system. Third, the time zone on the birth date, especially around a clock change. On this page you can print the raw positions and compare.

The text — yes, a specially trained AI writes it. But it calculates nothing: positions, houses, aspects and periods come from Swiss Ephemeris, and the AI receives only a list of the chart's strong signals and writes strictly from them. It is forbidden to invent dates and aspects, to frighten or to promise outcomes, and the finished text passes a filter for forbidden terms. The Shadow side was written by people in advance; there is no AI there.

The rules that turn signals into text, and every Shadow-side text, were written by people. But no person re-reads each individual reading — this is an automated product with filters. If you want a live conversation, the site lists partner astrologers who work with your SidusVita chart.

The astronomical part is accurate: transits and eclipses are computed with Swiss Ephemeris to within arc-minutes. The interpretation is not: it is a reading, not a measurement. We don't promise events and don't compute a 'hit rate'. A forecast shows which transits are active and with what weight; what to do with that is your call.

Both use the tropical zodiac and Placidus. Hybrid adds the Rahu–Ketu node axis — a Jyotish tool we value — while the entire Vedic vocabulary (nakshatras, dashas, yogas) is blocked by a filter so the reading stays in familiar Western language. Jyotish mode is separate: sidereal zodiac, whole-sign houses, dashas.

Yes, but separately from the readings. Black Moon Lilith has its own calculator page, where it is computed in both conventions at once — mean and true — because for roughly one birth date in three they land in different signs. It does not enter the natal reading, the forecast, synastry or the Shadow side: those are built on thirteen other points. Chiron, asteroids and hypothetical planets are not computed at all.

Partly. We find the moment of the Sun's return precisely in any case — it depends only on the date and place. But the solar-return houses, the Ascendant and everything read through them are not built without a birth time, and the year's reading becomes noticeably more general. Rectification first, then the solar return, is the safer order.

We store the birth data and charts you create after signing in — history and the AI chat don't work without them. Anonymous calculations on this page and on the natal chart page are not stored.
